Ayushmann Khurrana as Style Icon

From his boy next door charm to his awesome semi-formal looks, from the incredibly adorable to a heart-throb of many female fans, from his VJ phase to an actor, this man from Chandigarh needs no introduction. Ayushmann Khurrana is my current favourite star. So why not analyse the fashion sense of this stylish man!

He surely makes a style statement everytime and stands by them. He has received the 'Most Stylish Debutant' award at the Grey Goose Style ceremony for his movie 'Vicky Donor' in 2012. He has made appearances on the ramp on various fashion shows including Blackberry Fashion Show, Silhouette 2013 Bollywood Bytes annual fashion show and BD Somani's annual fashion show.
"Style is something that should come naturally. You don’t become stylish overnight. You need to have a certain exposure. I feel even T-shirt and torn jeans can make a statement. Fashion to me is not trying too hard", says Khurrana in an interview with Style Mynt.
A tie is to a man just like a scarf is to a woman. He is often seen wearing ties on formal suits as well as on casual plaid shirts. Its an instant formula to funk it up!

His personal style encompasses mixing colors and not much of a brand-conscious person. But he says his belts, watches and wallets needs to be of luxury brands. I like the way he accessorizes his casual outfit with a tie & pin, colorful canvas and his signature aviators.

आयुष्मान also maintains a blog where he writes in Hindi (See here). This handsome hunk has a long way to

go and we wish him all the best. Keep up the charming smile and lovely attitude and rock the world.

My Bath Essentials - Body Shop's Strawberry Body Polish

This adorable-looking Strawberry Body Polish by The Body Shop was gifted to me by brother in 2012.
That time it was purchased at INR 465. But now its priced at INR 595 for 200 ml on Body Shop's website. Basically, its a body scrub and again a BESTSELLER just like the Rainforest Coconut Hairoil in the last post.

The Body Shop official website

Available in 2 variants as you can see in the picture above. Satsuma and Strawberry!

How to use:
Use it instead of soap on the entire body excluding face. It would lather when applied alongwith water and then rinse off completely with water.

My experience:
I can simply describe my experience in one word - GREAT. The walnut shell and kiwi seeds present in the product is for exfoliating on a daily basis. It works as a scrub by cleansing the skin as well as a moisturizer
by making it soft as silk. The fragrance that it leaves on your body stays for over 3 hours.

Pros:
  • For normal skin - No need of moisturizer after bathing.
  • Requires very less quantity per use.
  • Makes skin very soft.
  • Reasonably priced - neither too high nor low.
  • Nice strawberry fragrance

Cons:
  • Requires lots of water to rinse in comparison to normal bath.

''The Body Shop'' Hair Oil

Today I'm kick starting on the series of products that are part of my routine beauty regime.

The Body Shop's Rainforest Coconut Hairoil worked for me. Here's how...

Hairfall in my life has a long story which I'm sure females of all ages go through at some point or other in their lives. Let's hit the rewind button and witness glimpses of it.

The Depression Phase:

I have been experiencing hair-fall for a couple of years now. At times, I regain volume in the hair and suddenly start losing it again.
The depressing phase was not pausing till the day I got a free sample sachet of this oil and I used it. I found it good and as soon it ran out, I had made up my mind to purchase a bottle of this hairoil.

What worked for me:

This rainforest coconut hairoil is already on the BESTSELLER list of Body Shop. They claim it works best for nourishment of all hair types. It does! Apart from adding shine, bounce and volume to my thin hair, it reduced the hairfall immediately (and not gradually). I noticed instant improvement.

Price:

645 INR for 200 ml.

My take:

Highly Recommended. I am using it for 2 months now and liking it because it is helping my hair heal and therefore, my senses too...hehe!

Next I would be reviewing Body Shop's Body Polish. Coming up soon. Keep following my blog for that and like my facebook page by clicking on this link --> I Love Fashion !!

One Skirt - Many Looks

Hello people
Today I'm posting a much awaited one on the blog.
The black pencil skirt!!!
Do you have any classic possessions that are must-haves in your wardrobe?
Okay, since the black pencil skirt I own gives formal vibes to me, I still wanted to experiment way more and explore! So I have tried and recreated as many looks possible and nice.
I hope you like them and do give your reviews at the end of the post if you like...
Here you go....

LOOK 1

Look 1: Red and Black
I have always considered that red & black are made for each other. They perfectly rock a look. Nonetheless I team red with white and other colors as well. In fact, I have also tried putting together the trio red-black-white a few times. A red shirt and black skirt for an evening date or an after-office party. I don't want to limit the options so you can think of other occasions on your own suiting your style. A golden owl brooch(neckpiece used as a brooch for the look) to get that extra edge. OMG, how I have started using fashion glossary as if I'm very well acquainted with that.

LOOK 2

Look 2: Animal print top & Skirt

I have carried off this outfit to my college the time I was pursuing my masters’ and that too very well ( Hope you like it as much as I did wearing it). I'm particularly fond of my tiger printed ballerina wedges.

LOOK 3

Look 3: Grey geometric print top & Skirt

An extremely sophisticated one. Mainly because of the neat geometric pattern on the top. It seems like a dress at once.

LOOK 4

Look 4: Ruffled top & Skirt

I was already in love with the ruffles trend and after much searching here 'n' there, got this one and that too in a nice pretty color. It also adds volume to the upper half of the body.

LOOK 5

Look 5: Cotton Shirt & Skirt
Last but not the least, the final look with the skirt. My dearest purple shirt from MBA times that I had sported lot of times, but never paired it like this. Blogging has surely widened my quest for fashion and experimental nature.

You are free to leave any suggestions or comments.

Eye Makeup

Hello people

This is my first post on make up. So here's a peek into my make-up world today.
I particularly love eye-makeup. I mostly like to highlight my eyes, whatsoever the occasion be.
Even when I am in a hurry or for those 5 minutes of quickly getting ready to head out, I never forget to kohl my eyes with a kajal.

Some essential products you'll find in my kit are:

1. Oriflame Lash explosion Mascara: It's a two-in-one mascara. One side for elongating the length and another gives volume to your eyelashes.

2. Chambor Kajal: I've been loyal to this one for over a year now. It gives an intense black color and smudge-free look for hours. I have never reapplied it throughout the day and it still works wonders for me!

3. Oriflame-very me Eyeliner(Grey): This liquid liner has an added shine to it and brings out the grey shade after two strokes.

4. Eyelash Curler - Local brand

5. Lakme Eyeliner(Black): I have not been liking liquid eyeliners lately as it takes quite some time to dry out( Damn, I'm already running late, now should i wait for you to dry...arghh)

6. VOV Eye shadow palette (8 colors): Simply nice!

Till next, have fun with fashion and make-up.

Cheers,
Vishakha

Revival of 90's fashion

Fashion is still not over its love affair with the nineties. Last week, my mother and I were taking a trip down memory lane by looking at photographs from the past. I’m born in the 90’s and mom told me she made me wear cute lil peplum frocks then. Awestruck, I looked at her and immediately it struck me that I gotta write a blogpost about this. So, now, the idea required good amount of research about the 90’s fashion, who’s wearing what in Indian movies of that decade, designers’ speak, newspaper articles and a lot more inspiration. Ever thought that much goes behind writing any blog post that you might come across day-in and day-out, eh?
It’s been much talked about and we’ve seen it on the runway recently, nineties fashion is here to stay!
One of my favourite show ‘Style and the city’ on Fox traveller talked about vintage, contemporary, they even showcased an outfit just inspired from the bollywood theme.

TRENDS THAT ARE BACK WITH A BANG:

1.      Ripped jeans
2.      Vest trend
3.      Colorful tights and leggings
4.      Plaid
5.      Platform shoes
6.      The motorcycle leather jacket
7.      Shoulder pads trend
8.      Bare midriff trend (in form of crop tops and bralette tops)
9.      High-waisted trend

Sonam Kapoor, Bollywood's fashionable sweetheart says “You know, being honest about what you love pays off. I don’t look at clothes as just clothes; I consider them as art, as well. And because I have such respect for fashion, I keep it real. I don’t think I’m bigger than fashion; I think fashion is bigger than me.”

With the comeback, I'm falling in love with the vintage pieces on ebay. Especially the watches, check them out here! Also this antique pocket-watch.

Have a happy day folks and thanks for visiting!

Review of Oriflame Fragrance

Today I'll be telling you about one of my priced possessions. It's ''Oriflame The Babes Sweet Peach'' perfume.
Packaging to adore and definitely for keeps!
I went drooling over it the moment I saw it in Oriflame catalog at a salon. But too much a price to pay! INR 1090 for 25 ml of perfume!!!!!
Somehow convinced myself and finally ordered it! I made a choice out of the 3 variants(available then)- Sweet Peach, Passion Berry and Crazy Kiwi.

I still have the outer carton and absolutely love the bottle.

The juicy peach and orange fragrance is awesome. Soft fragrance and cute packaging makes up for the expensive product. It can surely make heads turn when you carry it in your bag and take it out in public.
The fun part was it came as a plain white bottle and a lot of crazy and pretty stickers. You can personalize
it the way you want.
Have a look at mine:
