Outfit of the day

Hello everyone,

I am still not over jumpsuits. This is my first jumpsuit that I bought a couple of years ago. The only thing that has changed is the styling over the years. Any dress in one solid color always looks good when accessorized well with contrasting colors going hand-in-hand. You should also keep in mind the changing trends and the outfit will surely work wonders for you. A jumpsuit can be paired with a jacket, shrug, blazer. There are many ways to style it up. They have a long way to go as they were spotted in the Lakme Fashion Week recently.

I jumped into this one for an outing in the broad daylight. Since the jumpsuit is in single color, plain with no print on it, so I decided to wear yellow flat pumps and my favourite vibrant bag with it (Sling'd it). I completed the look by adding round hoop earrings, colorful bangles and a broad leather belt.
Enjoy the lovely pictures

Anti-Fashion

Food for thought - Fashion, Anti-fashion, Fashion, Anti-fashion...

Something appears to me as weird and I immediately tag it as non-fashionable. It's not a style of clothing or behavior or trend followed by people around me. It's a turn-off and non-appealing, as our minds are conditioned in that manner. Unaware of the fact that the fashion that is IN today might just be completely 'out'dated tomorrow. To support this fact, I'm reminded of this funny incident that happens with me over and again. Few years down the line when we look at our pictures, we are like ''eeewwww..what's that'' haha! We wonder what we are wearing was in fashion that time. Astounded by our own self of the past.

As a popular saying goes HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, so does fashion.

If an idol wears something(our fashion guru/icon/idol/favourite celebrity) we tend to follow their style statement and ape the way to suit our personality! That's the beauty of fashion that it has an easy imitation power.

For fashionistas like me, we would never EVER like to be called not~so~fashionable or unstylish. We don't want labels like Anti-fashion but would easily give it to other people who do not keep abreast with the latest thing! Not even a slightest of mistake which could damage our identity. But I have to admit sometimes we take risks and it doesn't turn out well, so we are little disappointed. Nobody dreams of a disaster. But nobody is perfect. That's how our style changes and evolves in true sense. We simply like to keep ourselves updated with the current trends and follow them religiously. No room for a faux pas.

Last but not the least, from all the trendsetters of this universe to aliens of other planets..LOL

Summer Love

Hey,

I wish this summer never ends. No, actually I wish this every time. It's going away too soon and the fall is waiting to arrive. It feels that summer just came. But no, its been quite long. I love this longest time of the year like anything but not the tanning, of course! Rightly said good times don't last. Well, neither do the bad ones, I suppose! Time really decides to fly faster when you're having fun. I experiment a lot with my looks in this period of time. That doesn't give you a reason to not follow my blog during the chilling time of the year. I am equally empirical in the winters as well.

Fuming because of the heat is continuous. You miss something only when its lost or gone, so true!! Probably it'll take a little more time for me to realize that's its actually gone to miss it bad (not forever, thank god!). Let it sink in completely. Kudos to the great times I had this season. Well, there is still some time and hope and I'm already giving my farewell(kind of) speech and gearing for stock change. Haha!

What is your favourite time of the year? Share your opinions in the comments below.

My next post is an interesting one...What if there had been ''NO-FASHION'' !?!!! Just changed your expression, don't forget to check it out then, soon!

DIY & Nail Art

Inspired from the work of a wonderful artist Priyanka Gusain of  'Zubiya', I did art work on a plain wallet.
My father didn't believe for a moment that its hand-painted! Decided to have the logo of my very own blog
I LOVE FASHION on the front side, and Eiffel Tower on the back. Love for Paris is very obvious for any fashion lover.

Material used : Just a thin permanent marker
and its done! Easy and hassle-free, right?

Do you like my creation?
You can leave your comments in the section at the end of this post.

LIKE it? Share it on facebook or tweet this on twitter using the section at the end of this post.

Remember I mentioned my growing fondness for geometry these days, nail art just to suit that. Used purple(dark one) as base coat and white geometrical patterns for an amazing contrast. Worked out well. :)

So, what's your say on both the creations?

The Little Red Dress

The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you've got to have a good spirit on the inside. That's what's really going to make you look like you are ready to rock the world.
- Alicia Keys

RED is a color of passion and love. A sensational color. Of course there are many other associations with it as well. I'm also reminded of the red carpet now. The color also represents beauty in some languages and cultures. But whenever I wear this color, it gives me a feeling of being sexy and appealing! I so agree with the fact that colors change your moods. Seems like I've done a study on colors which I've certainly not. Never been a fashion student formally. So does that mean what I once read was relevant. I read that 99% people are in professions they never studied!!! Strange but true. But I never imagined that it would come to me, like this. But never mind, coz am enjoying this phase.

Anyway, coming to the look. A plain dress with ruffled sleeves is a good pick when its in red. It was an impulsive purchase from Vero Moda in Gurgaon. Kept it simple with not much accessories except ear~rings in white to complement the LRD. Black clutch and heels to complete the look. Not to forget the attitude part. Carry it as if it's your normal self. Then, you'll be ready to rock!
Enjoy the pictures :)

DIY [Do It Yourself]

Hey,

I wanted to do something out of the old clothes that I hardly use anymore. Also, I've seen designers using their mother's trash sarees to recycle it and create something new and useful out of it. Inspired from that, I put on my creative hat and thought of converting my red tube top into another customized tube top. I made this just before I started writing this blog.

All you require:
  • A tube top
  • Mom's old saree
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine

STEP 1 :

Take a tube top and an old saree. I chose this saree because of the interesting print (I'm fond of geometric prints lately)

STEP 2 :

Take a scissors and cut-out as much fabric as you require to cover the tube top completely plus a little more (in case something goes wrong while stitching)

STEP 3 :

Stitch the cloth on the top using a machine or get the job done by a tailor ( Latter in my case)

And what you get is an all new printed tube top. Amazing!

Use it as a skirt instead. I have worn it as a skirt. Looked fab and i loved it. Happy with my creation.

Would you try something like this?
Do let me know if I inspire you ever. I'll be glad to know.

The Little Black Dress

"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress."
  Karl Lagerfeld

A lil long to be called an LBD (Little Black Dress), this dress was playing hide 'n' seek with me. Discovered it one fine day in my closet...Haha! Been ignored for months till now. Keeping in mind it doesn't feel poorer (I assume all my clothes have a 'life'). Shouldn't they be called living being when I am so attached to them all the time and my feelings change after I put on a certain piece...they invoke emotions in me just like people. So they are special and thus, they deserve this humanly treatment!

Then started combining the entire look:

  • A classic black dress
  • Lace shrug with puffed shoulders
  • Silver junk'd neckpiece
  • Envelope clutch
  • Stilettoes
  • (U can miss out on) Red lipstick

All self clicks first time on my blog... Guess what.. badly need a pro photographer now...So till the time I don't find one, please bear with me! and no nail-candy this time, sorry!

How do you like the outfit?

Since am writing and seeing much of black, I recall today I ordered  a pair of stockings online from 'DoneByNone'. Click here to have a look. I'm waiting for it to arrive.
Don't know how to conclude... Would just say.. With style, comes attitude!

My nails are my canvas - Nail Art

P.S. : All the above pictures are taken from the web [Google Images]

Hope you are having a nice time with my blog.
Well, its the nostalgia phase today.

The badge says:
VISHAKHA GUPTA
''Miss Artistic Nails''
KNC 2011

Got this badge as an appreciation of my artistic abilities. I've displayed it on this blog page..on the right hand side under 'My Badge'. Proud to have it. Reminds me of my college days. A small achievement.
The artistry was at its peak when I was doing my under-graduation studies at DU. Passed out in 2011 and now am done with my masters as well. Time flies really fast! Used to be absolutely crazy then. Now I don't even have those pictures of nail designs.

Some of my work ( This is all I could dig out from my laptop) :

Thanks for visiting.
Be tuned for exciting new posts coming up.
